It has been an amazing week for Prop 112! With an awesome fundraiser last weekend and Bill McKibben coming to Colorado to support our efforts including a livestream last Saturday – and a record numbers of canvassers in the offices — the campaign has gained some serious momentum! With the election just 12 days away, we want to pull out all the stops and have as many one-on-one conversations with Colorado voters as we can. Many voters are still undecided about Proposition 112 and need to hear from us. Here are a sampling of ways you can jump in this weekend. As always, you can check out all the ways to get involved here.
We have some fantastic opportunities to take action this weekend! Please join us:
EVERYDAY 9 a.m.-8 p.m. – Phone Bank, Text or Canvass! You can always phone back or text from home – and if you are near the CO Rising Office, come by! We are super lucky to have the Colorado Rising office in Boulder. There will be FREE FOOD/DRINKS FOR VOLUNTEERS at the office every night around 6 p.m.! What better way to spend your evening than volunteering with free food and friends? RSVP here to let us know you are coming! (1325 Broadway #216 – University Hill). Not in Boulder? You can also phone bank, text or canvass anytime from HOME. To get started, click here.
In addition to calling and knocking doors, we have an exciting new way you can volunteer! We now have access to Reach, an app that allows us to canvass at events, farmers markets, street corners, etc. With either a computer or a smartphone, you can look up someone’s voter information and mark them as a YES vote while you are out and about. Why is this important? Unlike just handing out flyers, this allows us to target our follow up with voters before election, give undecided voters more info, and remind them to vote yes on 112!
- Step 1. Check out the guide here on how to use Reach.
- Step 2. Pick up some flyers from one of our offices or connect with julia@corising.org if you don’t live in Denver or Boulder.
- Step 3. Find an event near you on our calendar
- Step 4. Head out and tell people about Prop 112!
Saturday, October 27 from 9:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. prior to the CU Buffs Home Football game! We’ve been told that 50,000 people will show up for this homecoming event! We’ll meet at the Trumbo Fountain area just north of the University Memorial Center at 9:30. Bring a fully charged smartphone and weather appropriate clothes and we will spend a couple hours educating Colorado voters as they mill around before the game. (We’ll spend the first half hour when we gather to learn how to use a new online voter contact tool called REACH.)
Please RSVP here if you can be part of this event! And please allow plenty of time to arrive and find parking. Or better yet come by bus or bike!
Sunday, October 28, 12-3 p.m., in front of the Courthouse on Pearl Street, Boulder! Join 350 Boulder County for a street canvass. Bring a smart phone and weather appropriate clothes (or a halloween costume if you are feeling festive) and we will spend a few hours educating Colorado voters. Feel free to just show up.
Thank you for joining in the final push to win #112! As always, you can also check out all the ways to get involved here.
